Welcome back, K-drama Insiders! 💫

Last time, I was gathering my thoughts for a review of The Scandal and getting back to Four Hands, Two Sonatas.

My full review of The Scandal is now on the website. Fair warning: this one is full of spoilers! I usually avoid them, but there was simply too much to unpack with this highly anticipated drama. If you’ve watched it, let me know what you thought. I’m curious!

Meanwhile, I’m loving Four Hands, Two Sonatas and already planning to watch the finale tonight. It’s well written and well acted, with great chemistry between Song Kang and Lee Jun-young. What I initially expected to be a bromance has taken a darker turn, blending its coming-of-age story with psychological suspense and revenge. It’s definitely on my recommendation list!

This week, I’m also sharing my conversation with EON MUSIC LAB about the music behind K-drama soundtracks, plus my Daebak unboxing video.

🎁 A Little Korean Culture, Delivered: My Daebak Unboxing

🌙 Ten Years of Love in the Moonlight

A little nostalgia for your radar! KBS World lists Love Again in the Moonlight, a special celebrating the 10th anniversary of Love in the Moonlight, for October 11. If you loved the historical romance starring Park Bo-gum and Kim Yoo-jung, this is one to look out for.

🔥 Weekly Buzz Watch: Four Hands, Two Sonatas Holds the Lead

Four Hands, Two Sonatas remains No. 1 on FUNdex’s TV-OTT drama buzz chart for the first week of October, with a 28.41% share. Its stars Lee Jun-young and Song Kang also hold the top two spots on the drama performer chart.

New Recruit 4: Sabotage stays second, while The Ordinary Jackpot climbs two places to third. A Love Other Than Yours rises to fourth, followed by The Scandal in fifth.

On the streaming side, no Korean scripted dramas made Netflix’s global non-English TV Top 10 for September 28–October 4. On Prime Video’s weekly chart, A Love Other Than Yours ranked No. 8 overall and No. 3 among non-English series.

With the FUNdex website unavailable to us this week, the buzz snapshot comes from Good Data Corporation’s official Instagram charts. Buzz measures online conversation, while the streaming charts track platform viewing.

🐝 Industry Buzz

🎉 tvN Turns 20

tvN is celebrating its 20th anniversary with 100 Days of Deception, a new historical spy romance starring Kim Yoo-jung and Park Jin-young. Premiering October 10, the drama is set in Gyeongseong and follows a pickpocket turned secret agent who crosses paths with an interpreter working inside the Japanese colonial government.

🎬 Casting News

⚔️ Han So-hee, Kang You-seok and Sung Joon Join Netflix’s Solo Leveling

The cast of Netflix’s live-action Solo Leveling is growing! Han So-hee joins the cast as Cha Hae-in, alongside lead actor Byeon Woo-seok. Lee Sung-min and Rain will make special appearances. If this adaptation is on your watchlist, there are even more familiar faces to look forward to. A release date hasn’t been announced yet.

⚖️ Lee Bo-young and Kang Tae-oh Team Up for a Legal Comedy

Lee Bo-young and Kang Tae-oh will lead ENA’s upcoming Divorce Investigator Hong Mal Geum, a working English title. She plays a divorced mother of three who becomes a family court investigator. He plays a lawyer with a perfect winning record who previously represented her ex-husband. That sounds like plenty of room for friction! The series is scheduled for the first half of 2027.
